TURP- Transurethral resection of the prostate, or TURP, is a procedure that is used to treat an enlarged prostate. This is a minimally invasive approach which involves removing a section of the prostate gland with a small endoscope inserted through the urethra.  Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), causes issues with urination such as needing to go often, difficulty in starting and stopping, a weak urine stream, and the sensation of not being able to properly empty the bladder.
